OUR HISTORY

GCC was started by Lead Pastor Ben Ogalar in his sitting room with his wife, mother-in-law, and two children on the 1st of March 2015 while praying and sharing the word of God together before we finally launch out on the 10th of March 2019. GCC is a multicultural growing church with the vision of bringing good news to a thirsty soul, hope for the hopeless, building families, and loving God and people. GCC is a church for everyone regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, and background. GCC is a family church where every member is important and cared for in an atmosphere of love and peace.

WELCOME TO GOODNEWS CHRISTIAN CENTRE

OUR VISION

Our vision is to bring the Good News to a thirsty soul through Worship, Word, Warfare, Wisdom, and Wonder.
VISION STATEMENT: To make heaven and to take as many people with us

GOODNEWS CHRISTIAN CENTRE

Goodnews is a Bible-believing church where we preach the complete Word of God with the power of the Holy Spirit and emphasis is laid on worship, holiness, prayer, living a right and fulfilling life. Through this, people are able to discover their God-given destinies and develop their potential so that they can be what God wants them to be. GCC is a place of prayer and intercession for all nations, where God turns a mess into a message, shame into fame, a story into glory, a trial into a triumph, a test into a testimony, and give people praise reports. Come and discover your destiny as you worship with us and you will be blessed in Jesus name.

OUR BELIEFS

That there is One God, the creature of Heaven and Earth and creator of both visible and invisible, eternally perfect in all ways, loving, holy and worthy of all honour, praise and worship. (Gen 1:1; Ps 86:9-10; Is 43:10-11; Ez 3:14)

That Jesus Christ is the son of God who became perfect man for the purpose of atoning for the sins of humanity. We also believe that Jesus Christ is God and was born by Mary the virgin. We believe in
His death on the cross, and
resurrection, by which He brought redemption. We believe the He is coming back again. John 1:1-14; Matt 1:18-25; Isa 53:4-10; Gal 3:13;
1 Cor 15:3; Rom 4:25; Heb 2:9; Heb 9:26)

That the Holy Spirit is the third person in the TRINITY. He has the same power and glory with God the Father and God the Son. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who lives within and guides Christians so they are enabled to live godly lives. This same Holy Spirit endows believers with gifts they can use. John 14:16-17; John 15:26; Acts 16:6-7; Eph 1:17-19; 2 Thess 2:13; 1 Cor 12:7)
That there is a devil who seek the downfall of every man. He brought sickness, sin and death into the world. He seeks the destruction of those who exercise their faith in the Lord Jesus. He will be put into the lake of fire where he will suffer alongside his followers eternally. (Gen 3:1-16; James 4:7; Matt 4:1-11; Rev 20:7-10).
That man was formed from the dust of the ground by God and God breathed into man and man became a living soul. Man is made up of three parts, namely body, soul and spirit. Man is God’s representative on earth. (Gen 2:7; Gen 1:26-28; Gen 2:15).
That all sinners can receive salvation by grace, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that true, deep repentance from all known sins, and a conscious and active faith in Jesus Christ are important for salvation. We believe that salvation is not possible through “Good works” alone. We believe, according to the scriptures that all men have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Acts 3:19; 20:21; 2 cor 7: 10; Mark 1:15; Isa 55: 7; Ezek 18; 21; Rom 5:1; Rom 3: 25-26; Gal3:24;).
That anyone that accepts the Lord Jesus Christ need to live godly in order to enter Heaven. We believe that sanctification is another grace of God by which our souls are progressively and completely cleansed. It is the result of walking in the fear of God, and in absolute obedience to the word of God. (2 Thess 2:13; 1 Thess 5:23- 24; Eph 5: 25-27; 1 Peter 1:16; 2 cor 7:1; John 17: 15-17; Heb 2:1; 12:14).
That water Baptism is essential to our obedience after reconciliation with God. All members of this church should be baptised by immersion in water in the name of the father, the name of the son and the Holy Spirit. (Rom 6:1-23; Col 2: 1-13).
That the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Jesus Christ so that all believers (all members of the family of God) might partake thereof regularly, to “shew the Lord’s death till he comes”. The emblems used are “unleavened bread” and the juice of “fruit of the vine”. Anyone who eats and drinks unworthily brings “damnation”, punishment and chastisement upon himself. (Matthew 26:29; Luke 22:17-20; | Corinthians 11:23-30).
That the Baptism in the Holy Ghost is the endowment of power from on high upon the sanctified believer. It is “the promise of the Father” and when one receives this “gift of the Holy Ghost”, it is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking a language unlearned previously, referred to as speaking in tongues as the stirit gives utterance. We do not teach or instruct people how to speak in tongues: the Holy Spirit gives utterance. We also stress the necessity of purity before power. The Gifts of the Spirit are for believers today. (Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:8; Luke 3:16; 24:49; John 1:30- 33; 7:37-39; 14:16, 17,26; 15:26; 16:12-15; Acts 1:5-8; Mark 16:17; Acts 2:1-18; 10:44-46; Acts 19:1-6; | Corinthians 12:1-31; 14:1-40).
That Redemption from the curse of the law, Healing of sickness and disease as well as continued Health are provided for all people through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. (Exodus 15:26; Deuteronomy 7:15; Psalm 103:1-5; Proverbs 4:20-22; Isaiah 53:4- 5; Matthew 8:16-17; I Peter 2:24; Mark 16:15-18; Luke 13:16; John 14:12-14; 10:10; Acts 10:38; James 5:14-16; 3 John 2 Galatians 3:13-14).
That Personal Evangelism is a God-given and God-ordained ministry for every believer. Jesus commanded and God requires every believer to be a compassionate and fruitful soul winner, bringing others to Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-49; John 17:18; Acts 1:8; 1-4; Psalm 126:5, 6; Proverbs 11:30; Daniel 12:3; Ezekiel 3:17-21).
That Marriage is honourable in all – Heb. 13:4. Therefore all members who wish to marry could do so in the church. We believe that God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman. The Word of God teaches us that monogamy has been the order since the beginning of the Law of Christ. Divorce is permissible only when a life partner has committed adultery. Even then, neither of the two should be married to a new partner while both are yet alive – Matt. 5:31-32, 19:9; Mark 10:11-12; Luke 16:18; Rom. 7:2-3; Mal. 2:13-16; Gen. 2:18: Matt. 19:4-6).
That rebellion against Church Ministers is against the Will of God. Those who rebelled against Moses did not escape unpunished – Num 12:1-10; Num. 16:1-4, 32. The Bible teaches that we should obey our Spiritual leaders and submit to them – Heb 13:17; Joshua 1:16-18).
The Local Church is a distinct body of Believers in a given locality. These believers are fully committed to teaching and living by the word of God, united in true love, with a clear leadership and a visionary that is responsible for the health and direction of the church. We believe that every true believer has a place in a healthy local church and that every true believer should be a faithful member of the church that they should submit to godly leadership and pursuing the plan of God. We believe that true believers should live up to their membership commitments and give their parts in building up the church for fruitfulness in the kingdom of God. (Eph. 1:22; Col. 1:1-18; Eph 3:10; 5:24-29, I Cor. 1:2; Acts 14:23; Phil. 4:15; Acts 13:28, Acts 2:41-47).
That the Rapture (SECOND COMING OF CHRIST) is the catching away from the earth, of all living saints and all who died in the Lord. When the Gospel has been preached to all nations, the trumpet of God will sound, and that those believers who, by the grace of God have prepared themselves to be spotless, and have stayed faithful to the Lordship of Jesus Christ will be caught up in the air to meet with the Lord, together with those true believers that died in Christ. (I Thess. 4:15-17; I Cor. 15:51-52; Matt. 24:40-44; Matt 25:10b Rev. 19:19-21; I Thess. 1:7-10; Jude 1:14-15; Zech. 14:3-4).
That we shall all, both sinners and believers, rich and poor, appear before the judgment seat of Christ. We believe that all dead people will be raised, whether they are believers or unbelievers. We believe that we shall all be judged according to the life that we have lived in this present life. The godly shall spend eternity with God and the ungodly shall spend eternity in the Lake of fire. (Acts 17:31; Joel 3:2; Ez. 14:15; Jud. 1:14-15; I Thess 1:7-10; Matt. 24:35; I| Peter 3:12-13; Rev. 21:1-3; Is. 65:17: 66:22; Rev. 14:10-11; Luke. 16:24; Mark 9:43-44).
